PCR and related reagents
Biotium offers EvaGreen dye, Cheetah Taq and fast EvaGreen mastermixes for qPCR and melt curve analysis. In addition, we offer PMA, a novel DNA dye binding dye used to distinguish live and dead microorganisms by qPCR.
Gel electrophoresis products
GelRed and GelGreen are ultra-sensitive, stable and environmentally safe fluorescent nucleic acid dyes designed to replace the highly toxic ethidium bromide, SYBR® Green, SYBR Gold and SYBR Safe for staining dsDNA, ssDNA or RNA in agarose or polyacrylamide gels. GelRed and GelGreen are compatible with downstream DNA manipulations such as restriction enzyme digests, gel extraction procedures and cloning. GelRed and GelGreen can be used in precast, post-staining and pre-staining procedures. A series of safety tests have confirmed that GelRed and GelGreen are noncytotoxic, nonmutagenic and nonhazardous at concentrations well above the working concentrations.
Nucleic acid quantitation in solution
The AccuBlue dsDNA Quantitation Kits provide ease and simplicity for DNA quantitation in solution. The High Sensitivity Kit reliably quantitates dsDNA ranging from 0.2 to 100 ng, while the Broad Range Kit measures dsDNA from 2 to 2000 ng. These kits offer advantages in stability, linear dynamic range, and sensitivity over other traditional methods of DNA quantitation. The assay kit is tolerable to common contaminants such as proteins, salts, organic solvents, detergents, and have sensitive fluorescent readouts.
Nucleic acid labeling
Reagents under this section are for covalently modifying nucleic acids. Our fluorescent dye- and biotin-labeled nucleoside triphosphates can be enzymatically incorporated into DNA or RNA. Biotium's highly fluorescent and photostable CF dye succinimidyl esters can be readily coupled to amine-functionalized oligonucleotides. In addition, Biotium's AllGlo dyes can be used to prepare AllGlo PCR probes.
